Weekend Trip: Kansas City Zoo
Our big goal today: Newly opened Africa
Due to the construction of the African Sky Safari, chimp, giraffe, zebra and rhino exhibits are closed.
.sunbathing hippos.
.this tortoise was digging. it was kinda neat to watch his/her strength. not to mention his/her cute little nails scooping and tossing the soil.
.this female was having so much fun playing with her ball until it rolled into the ravine, so she grabbed the next best thing. we also got to sit as close to one female as the plexiglass would allow while she lounged against the viewing enclosure. I often dream of these majestic creatures, and find it an honor to enjoy them while they must live in captivitiy.
.not something I would like to walk up on in the wide open. I believe he was people watching.
.thank you to all who donate their time, money, and energy to our local zoo. we visit often.
