Digital Collage: 11:11

.lately, I'm finding a new stride and using the energies of the people around me to create, by first recognizing a few of their attributes, translating them using pictures or colors, and layering them with a bit of something i have created myself such as a drawing or a handmade background. 

 .i've met some dynamic women over the last year along my journey into the world of Mary Kay as a business opportunity.  i'm learning to soften and to dream again in ways i thought i had left behind.  this was a quick and fun piece inspired by dk.

.this year of 2012 has brought some superb moments both brilliant and devastating to certain extents.  i have to say, sometimes it's just plain fun living in these moments knowing that we are the great potentials that create our individually desired outcomes.  love this season.  -->looks safe to me!? ;)

Part of this is a canvas piece and part is digital.  The final inspiration from an art challenge you can read about @ Collage Obsession.  I was hoping to find a way to finish the canvas I had started a year ago....there was just a little something missing.  Glad I could use the piece for this challenge to finish her.

Digital Collage:  pheonix rising....

Hello.  Yes, I'm only dropping in today.....but I come with gifts.  I've taken a bit of a break from posting lately to follow other leads and pathways.  Along the path, I have found some new inspiration and also decided how to manifest some inspirations past.  For some time I've wanted to create an affirmations line, and I think I've come up with a 'first draft' series.  (one of which is represented above)

I've also got some fresh digitals that are a bit different than I've presented before.  Having never taken any courses or advice from friends, and using a free online graphics editing program; I've put together some interesting, yet simple pieces of my visions.  I look forward to expanding in this direction.

. i think i'll add a little texture to this and mount it on wood. maybe throw a little epoxy or distressed crackle glaze over top.

{hours later:  Well, looks like I saved this digital with too little resolution and can't get it saved properly to 300 dpi, so it's a practice run. If anyone has any ideas how I can recover this one from the death of 72 dpi please leave a comment or email me.}

Mixed Media:  Getting back on my proverbial horse





 "HALLELUJAH"....this being the word that reverberated thru my mind body yesterday as I finalized a collage vision that's been swirling around me for several months....actually, since my mom commissioned me in April to create an owl collage for my sister who graduated as an educator in May.  As much as I was looking forward to creating something outside my peripheals, it really took a while to come up with some sort of plan for this one.  If you notice in the picture above, my original plan for this particular canvas depicted a canine.  It's funny how things work out.....

.after releasing the idea that I must do this or I must do that.....I recieved a vision for an owl collage.

.after releasing the rules I had made for myself about the order of creation....I merged my vision with tools that were readily available to me.

.after releasing my mind from the responsibility of creation.....I followed a path of unpredictable and non-prophesized sounds, visions, and feelings that led me to manifestation.

......off to the photographer.  finished product pics soon to come.  i'd like to see this one on cards, totes, notebook covers, magnets, and in professional art print form.  a screen printed t-shirt would be cool, too.

Happy Love Day!

Yesterday, my children and I had the pleasure of having brunch at my brother's house with his beautiful wife and daughter. The ladies graciously hosted a tea luncheon to celebrate our love and femininity. These are never casual affairs as we were served the finest foods, on authentic vintage serving ware, and were invited to craft some lovely floral ladies' hats. What a fun day. Roman joined us as the only 'boy' wearing a shirt and tie for the event. He did, however, wear his trusty Vanagon under shirt and a bag full of cars to keep him comfortable among all the lovely ladies, doilies, and floral decor.

Emma made the cutest valentines this year for her classmates.  This project includes her original 3 creations, photo copied and applied to cardstock notecards.  Each has handwritten wishes inside.  An easy and fun craft that displays a child's personal art.
